About Us
Tri-City Medical Center, 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA is a Gold Seal-approved, full-service hospital with two advanced clinical institutes for cardiovascular and orthopaedic care. Tri-City Medical Center has 397 beds and over 500 physicians practicing in 60 specialties. Opened in 1961, we have grown to meet the needs of our North County residents. We are community owned and operated. The hospital, a leader in robotics and minimally invasive technologies, has served the community for more than a half century.
Tri-City Medical Center serves San Diego County's coastal communities of Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista, as well as the surrounding region. Tri-City is administered by the Tri-City Healthcare District, a California Hospital District.
Tri-City Medical Center's mission is to advance the health and wellness of those we serve; the vision of the center is to be recognized in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for patient care. Our values are: Quality, Caring, Innovation, Safety, Integrity, and Stewardship.
Business and political leaders from Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista came together in the 1950's to create a regional hospital. Voters approved a bond issue to fund land purchases and construction costs. The hospital opened its doors with 42 physicians on staff in 1961. Expansion continued in the 1960's, 70's and 80's.
In 1985, the hospital name became Tri-City Medical Center to reflect its growth into a comprehensive, regional facility. Today, the San Diego North County Hospital continues to provide medical excellence, emergency preparedness and community services.
