Summary

ShelfGenie is in the home improvement business, and we design, manufacture, and install premium, custom-made slide-out shelves, and pull-out drawers for existing cabinets and pantries. We are looking for friendly, motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic sales professionals who want to join the ShelfGenie of San Marcos team as Designers. Our Designers are "Solutions Consultants" who specialize in designing and selling customized slide-out shelving and pull-out drawers that optimize and enhance the space, organization, and accessibility of our clients' cabinets and pantries. Our solutions are truly transformational for our clients seeking to get more organized, get rid of clutter, and increase the ease of use of their cabinet and pantry spaces.

The Designer role is a commissions-based design/sales job. It starts part-time and, based on your motivation, personal drive, and achievement, can grow into a full-time career with increasing rewards as you develop your experience and client base. This is a great side hustle for people wanting a solid extra income source that can lead to a rewarding, full-time career for driven professionals who invest time and effort into building their book of business.

We provide all the System, Product, Design, and Software training you need. You need to have demonstrated agility, drive, commitment, and passion for results to complete the training, but once you complete your training, you will be a Certified ShelfGenie Designer with the ability to be as successful as you want to be.

Professionals such as Interior Designers, Professional Organizers, and Kitchen Designers who want a rewarding and lucrative side hustle are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will possess previous sales experience and have a proven track record in sales generation. The successful candidate must be able to develop cabinet and pantry slide-out shelving design expertise and technical product skills, with a keen eye for organization and space optimization.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and challenges related to cabinet and pantry organization and accessibility.
  • Design Solutions: Using our 3D software, develop customized design solutions for improving cabinet functionality, including the layout and installation of slide-out shelves and pull-out drawers.
  • Product Selection: Advise clients on the best solutions for their needs, ensuring high quality and compatibility with existing cabinetry.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct on-site assessments to measure and evaluate cabinet spaces, providing accurate recommendations for solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the design and installation phases, providing effective solutions to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication, follow-up, and after-sales support.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of proven experience in sales; previous experience in cabinetry, closet design, professional organizing, or interior designing is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and develop a strong understanding of cabinetry and pantry design solutions, including space optimization and accessibility as well as technical knowledge of slide-out shelves and pull-out drawer systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with clients and understand their needs.
  • High Proficiency with Computer Use and Relevant Applications, such as Microsoft Office/365; design software experience (e.g., CAD or SketchUp) is a plus; ability to learn new software/systems is a MUST.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and work independently.
  • Must be highly responsible, reliable, and with a strong desire for performance and achievement.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have your own reliable, up-to-date laptop computer and cell phone.
